POLICE are hunting for armed robbers who escaped with cash from a bank.
The gang struck at the Royal Bank of Scotland in Bridge Street, Ramsbottom, at about 10.50am yesterday.
The offenders threatened staff with what is believed to be a firearm and the security guard was attacked by the offenders with a monkey wrench.
A quantity of cash was stolen. The theives who all wore balaclava masks escaped in a stolen BMW which they later abandoned in Bye Road, Shuttleworth.
The guard was taken to hospital for treatment.
Police are appealing for witnesses to call them on 0161 856 8150 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
