HARRY Peers Steelwork -- one of the UK's most experienced specialist fabricators -- has received a prestigious RoSPA Gold Award.
The award, from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents, was in recognition of the Bolton company's contribution to the P4 Alliance Project at Syngenta, Grangemouth.
It was the first received by the Alliance Team consisting of Syngenta, Simon-Carves, Dews, Peers, IIS, Watson Norie and Cape. The Agrochemical Production Facility project required 540,000 man hours to install. It was completed without accidents.
Peers used modular fabrication techniques and innovative construction methods to achieve a high level of coordination and co-operation between the Alliance members.
