IN reply to the letter written by Mrs Perks, I wish to state another opinion.

My husband was admitted to A&E about 15 minutes before Mrs Perks, after suffering a heart attack. He was promptly seen by a very overworked doctor and staff as was Mrs Perks.

I know as I was there, along with my daughter and her friend. We saw how concerned the staff were for these two patients.

After a few hours receiving treatment and attention, they were both lucky to have a bed on D2 Coronary Care Unit, where the patients' needs were put first.

After improving, my husband was also asked if he would mind being transferred to another ward -- as there was someone in more need of special care than he then was. He readily agreed and was transferred to a very clean C3 ward where he again received excellent care and good food.

My family and I can only thank all concerned that he is now able to lead a near normal life.
