A VOLUNTEER broadcasting scheme is helping people with learning difficulties or disabilities to learn new skills and develop confidence.
The Diversity in Barrier Breaking Communications (DBBC) volunteer group has been award £2,500 from the Little Hulton and Farnworth Partnership to train 10 students.
They will work in the group's studios at Ashburner Street Market in Bolton and help broadcast to shoppers every Saturday as well as world-wide on the Internet.
On completion of the scheme they receive a qualification from the Open College. In the past some have gone on to work in the media.
"The scheme provides a relaxed learning atmosphere where students can develop at their own pace," said Farnworth councillor Noel Spencer.
