MYTHAM Ladies had a comfortable 59-run win over Tonge Fold XI to move two points clear at the top of Section 'B' in the John Smith's Farnworth Winter Rounders League.
Considering previous results, Mytham could have expected a tougher test in this crunch match, but they would be delighted to prove themselves worthy leaders.
In the same section, Harper Green conceded to Bolton Motor Bodies when they had only four players available and Advance Computer Systems recovered from being four runs behind at the interval to beat The White Horse by 17 runs.
In the Halliwell League, the top three sides all won and remain tied on 15 points. Darcy XI dismissed J.R. Ladies in 15 good balls in both innings, Morris Roofing had an innings win over BRUFC and Westhoughton & District gave Smithills Coaching House a 70-run start and won by 30.
Lower Pools and Bolton Lads & Girls Club started with five points apiece, but Lower Pools had to give their opponents a start of 30 runs. This, however, did not prove to be a problem as they scored 77 and 94 runs in their innings whilst dismissing Lads & Girls Club for 25 and 27 in 19 and 18 good balls respectively.
Cheetham Ladies lost again despite having a 70 run start against K.Js and have yet to win, but they will be gaining valuable experience which should help them when the summer league starts in April.
