Bowdon 2nds 0 Bolton Ladies 5: BOLTON Ladies returned to winning ways on Sunday, with an emphatic win over Bowdon.
The game was competitively played out, and it was Bolton who struck first, when a cross into the penalty area by Louise Heaney was finished by Wendy Horan.
Julie Bluer then added a second to leave it 2-0 at the break.
In the second half Bowdon tried to get back into the game, but their flowing midfield play did not produce many direct chances, and the Bolton goalkeeper Nicky Davies was a virtual spectator with the help of her stalwart defence around her.
At the other end Bolton's simple direct approach was paying dividends, with Bluer, Sarah Grange and Zoe Bluer all adding to the final tally to leave a very satisfying 5-0 scoreline.
Woman of the match was jointly awarded to Claire Russell and Mia Croston (whom the team were glad to welcome back after a year spent travelling the world). Match ball sponsor was Classic Decor of Farnworth.
