THE Fire Brigade should not have to go round putting leaflets through people's doors as the legislation already exists to deal with the problem of double parking.
Sometimes I could not get a 53-seater coach to school entrances or have found it extremely difficult to do so and then drop children off after trips. Some of the school staff I spoke to said that the police had been told about it but had done nothing. One teacher at a Prestwich school called them "... a waste of space".
The point is that if a coach can't get up a road it's just an inconvenience but if a fire engine or ambulance can't, it could be someone's life. Also this has been happening for 10 years at a conservative estimate.
