THE BBC is set to launch a dedicated radio station for the Commonwealth Games next year.
Broadcasting chiefs will set up a temporary channel on 97.7FM across Greater Manchester starting in March and running until August.
They also plan to provide an interactive TV channel covering every sport from July 25 to August 4, 2002.
The station, which has the working title of BBC2002, will go on air from New Broadcasting House, in Manchester.
