Swinton Lions 6, 28 Hull KR
SWINTON finally got their season under way at a cold and frosty Gigg Lane, but they crashed to a 28-6 defeat against a solid Hull KR defence.
The turning point in the game came when Rovers scored two quick tries early in the second half when they increased their 12-6 lead to 22-6.
Lions' coach Tony Humphries was disappointed with the defeat but not too unhappy.
He said: "The start of the second half did us, but once we gel and get rid of the rustiness from our game we will be a force to be reckoned with in this league. Rovers are a top side and this is only a our second game with a new team".
"I thought our forwards were magnificent with Lee Hansen outstanding."
