A brilliant winter ride with early frost went over the heights above Padiham, overlooking the Colne valley on one side, Sabden village and Sabden Fold on the other.
The third clarion social evening takes place at Chorley Old Rd. Methodist Church. Dave Heald, former junior kilometre champion and three time national silver medallist, will be on hand to demonstrate track sprinting skills. Competition rollers with distance clock attached allows a clear indication of which participant is leading during a race. Roller racing is exciting to watch and is making a comeback in the cycling world. Admission is free and there is ample safe cycle space for anyone arriving by bike with 8pm start.
There is competition of a different calibre this week, as the club hold their annual downhill freewheeling event. Christmas dinner and party at Smithills Coaching House will take place after the morning ride.
