THE Royal Bolton Hospital is searching for proof-readers to study the clarity and content of the hundreds of leaflets and letters.
Patient Information Group chairman Christine Lawler said: "Coming to hospital or looking after a relative or friend afterwards can be an anxious time.
"Letters and leaflets are an important part of supporting patients, but it is vital we get it right for them. We are not looking for experts, we are looking for people of all ages and backgrounds."
Volunteers will be asked to spend an hour a month checking leaflets at home before printing. All comments will be anonymous.
Anyone interested should write to Christine Lawler, Patient Information Group, Service Development Group, Royal Bolton Hospital, Minerva Road, Farnworth, Bolton, BL4 OJR.
