Glossop North End 4, Ramsbottom United 3: THERE was never a dull moment in the Rams disappointing defeat at Glossop. David Yorke- Robinson gave United the lead after only two minutes with his 17th goal of the season but the home side hit back on the half hour for 1-1 at the break.
Within six minutes of the restart Glossop scored twice, the second scrambled home after United's Danny Goodall was totally flattened in a heavy challenge, sparking a free-for-all. Rams' keeper Alan Fairbrother stepped in initially as peacemaker but as he held a player off Goodall he received a punch in the face.
He answered like with like and strangely when the referee got on top of matters was the only player to be shown a red card with outfield player Jamie Taylor taking over the gloves. A Glossop player put through his own goal and Stephen Shiehl made it 3-3 but Glossop pinched a late winner. Karl Brown was named as United's man of the match.
