FAN'S VIEW: THE final delivery let Wanderers down in a match that could have gone either way at Pride Park on Saturday. The away fans were expectant, the home fans nervous, as Bolton started the better and looked to continue their good away form.
Derby's only real chance in the first half fell to Ravanelli who hit the bar when it seemed easier to score. For Wanderers, Kevin Nolan shone as he always looked comfortable on the ball and he came inches away from putting the Whites 1-0 up after an excellent run between the County centre-backs.
At half-time, the Wanderers faithful felt that unjust refereeing errors seemed to be bringing Derby back into the match. This was to prove true as a fired up Bolton side came out fighting but seemingly every final ball or refereeing error would go against them.
Derby then stepped up a gear with the lively Christie putting County 1-0 up. Jussi Jaaskelainen made at least two world class saves as Derby tried to build on their lead and had it not been for Jussi they most certainly would have done.
As the big Finn kept his composure, Wanderers rallied at the other end with efforts from Nolan and Ricardo just going wide. The closest Bolton came was a deflection from a Dean Holdsworth shot, which was redirected towards the goal, only for the ball to loop over the top.
It leaves Wanderers 12th but still only a point away from Manchester United but in view of their current form maybe that is not such a good place to be!
Man of the Match: Kevin Nolan was classy on the ball and looked a cut above the Derby midfield that included Benito Carbone.
