ALTHOUGH the 2001 racing season is now little more than a distant memory, LRC members are still meeting regularly in the 'social season' - the latest event was the Presidents Christmas Run on Sunday.
This is a long established outing where the currrent Mr President leads a special club run over a route of his choosing before ending up at Egerton Cricket Club for a buffet lunch with some of the clubs less energetic members.
LRC club runs will continue throughout the winter months with clubrunners normally meeting outside the Royal Oak pub on Tonge Moor Road at 9.30 on Sunday mornings. The ride on December 16 will be an impromtu affair with the cafe stop being decided by those present. Anyone wishing to join the run should turn up on the day with a roadbike (and spare inner tube - just in case).
