A 24-YEAR-OLD woman is still in hospital after a car accident last month which led to the deaths of her husband-to-be and the taxi driver who was taking them home.
Claire Harmer, of Haseley Close, Little Lever, suffered serious injuries to her legs in the accident on Sunday, November 25.
She is being treated at the Royal Bolton Hospital where nursing staff said she was "doing very well".
Her fiance, Christopher Robinson, aged 25, of the same address, and taxi driver Mohammed Patel, 34,of Auburn Street, Daubhill, died after the accident in Bury Road.
A 19-year-old Bolton woman and a 25-year-old man were also injured and were treated in hospital. The details of the accident are being investigated by the Police Complaints Commission.
Police said the Toyota Corolla taxi and a Cavalier sped along Bury Road past traffic officers on patrol and raced through traffic lights at the junction of Crompton Way. Before the police officers had a chance to follow the two cars, they had collided with a Fiat van and a Toyota Carina.
