ONE of Bolton Wanderers' oldest fans, Fred Keir, has died at the age of 102. Born in Hyde, Manchester, he spent most of his life in the Halliwell area.
Mr Keir enlisted as a soldier in the First World War at the age of 16 and served in France and Italy. He married his late wife, Maggie, on his return to England and they had a daughter, Marjory.
Mr Keir used to enjoy watching the Wanderers and was a keen crown green bowler. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren, Roderick and Gareth, and his great-grandchildren.
The pensioner died at Darley Court Residential Home last Friday and his funeral service will be held at Overdale West Chapel on Friday at 11.10am.
