A FAMOUS piano company has tuned up to come to Bolton. Piano makers Steinway & Sons have opened their first showroom outside London in 126 years in a local shop.
Their new Steinway Piano Gallery, in the Harker & Howarth music store on Folds Road, will complement the Steinway Hall established in London in 1875.
Charles Harker, managing director of Harker & Howarth Pianos Ltd, said it was a great honour that Steinway & Sons had chosen the shop for their showroom.
The Mayor of Bolton, Cllr Kevan Helsby, who officially opened the gallery, said: "Steinway is often the preferred piano for top concert halls and the world's best musicians, and for the company to choose a Bolton retailer is a feather in the town's cap."
