A BOLTON company is hoping for success with the launch of the latest in a long line of electrically-operated golf vehicles.

Velden Eagle Golf Ltd, a subsidiary of Velden Engineering in Bedford Street, Bolton, has introduced its Eagle 2002 -- an aid to golfers who prefer not to carry their bag around with them.

Managing director Alex Kitchen, a keen golfer, said: "Our company will not sell lightweight, short-lasting products. We are committed to supplying our customers with well-engineered equipment designed to stand the test of time."

He said the new trolley was "altogether smoother, quieter and more reliable than any other product on the market."

Velden has been developing golf buggies and trolleys for about 15 years.

The company offered one of the new trolleys as a prize in a golf magazine competition and it was won by Mr James Wright of Stockport.

Mr Wright, left, who plays at Heaton Moor Golf Club, receives his prize from Richard Lynch, former director of marketing at Bolton and Bury Chamber who is now general manager of Velden Eagle Golf Ltd.
