POLICE are hunting two men who fled empty handed after smashing a security screen in a Post Office raid.
The men struck at 5.26pm yesterday at Platt Bridge Post Office, Bank Buildings in Platt Bridge, Wigan, carrying a double barrelled shotgun and a lump hammer.
The men pushed a 23-year-old woman customer from Scafell Road, Platt Bridge, into a corner of the premises before attacking the security glass with the hammer causing extensive damage.
The men then left the post office empty handed and made off in the direction of Kwik Save still carrying the weapons and a black holdall.
