A STUDENT who went beserk while being treated by paramedics has been given a jail warning by a judge.

After being found lying outside a Manchester bar 19-year-old Richard Wood lashed out at police officers and an ambulance crew.

One of the paramedics was assaulted and injured his back while taking evasive action, prosecutor Andrew Holt told Manchester city magistrates court.

Wood, of Wigan Road, Deane, who is studying at Manchester University, admitted using threatening behaviour and damaging a paramedic's shirt.

He was bailed until January 7 for sentence.
