By Louisa Gregson lgregson@lancashire.newsquest.co.uk CHRISTMAS shoppers in a Bolton supermarket were introduced to the "Wonder of Yule" when the "King" entertained in the aisles.
The Elvis lookalike complete with white jump suit, quiff and matching sideburns played at his most unusual venue yet -- the giant Tesco Extra store on Mansell Way, Horwich.
After arriving in style in a white American stretch limousine he joined his "Vegas girls" from the Bolton Academy of Dance and Stage and the Michael Welch Band before launching into a one off preview show featuring all his greatest hits.
The performance, by Elvis Williamson, spiced up what would have been just a regular day in the supermarket as shoppers and staff danced in the aisles to a medley of hit songs including The Wonder of You, Suspicious Minds, Blue Christmas and Shopping Around.
Customer Service Manager, Karen Cumisky said: "The whole store came to a stand still. Everyone was drawn to the front of the shop and seemed to really enjoy themselves.
"The customer feedback was very good and everyone had a snigger after he left and we announced on the tannoy that 'Elvis had left the building'-- it was a real Christmas treat."
Three-year-old Olivia Vose from Aspull was perhaps Elvis's youngest fan as she danced and sang along with the performance.
Elvis agreed to "play Tesco Extra" as a warm up before his show at the De Vere Whites Hotel in the nearby Reebok Stadium.
