I AM writing about the closure of Longsight School.
My son left Longsight last year to go to secondary school, where he is doing very well.
I have been watching the campaign over the last few months, and have been amazed at the support George Hadfield and staff have been getting. I have known first hand the problems the school has got with very poor standards. On numerous occasions I have spoken to George Hadfield, his staff and governors, over matters which were very poorly dealt with, but no one seems to want to listen.
I would like to congratulate Cllr Linda Thomas on her very caring and professional approach to the closure. Like her, I agree with the findings of the Ofsted Report. I have not read one wrong word in the whole report.
I know lots of parents have taken children from Longsight to move them to other schools because they were unhappy with standards at the school.
