PRIMARY school pupils from Bury will go down to Bluebell Wood this week to do their bit for wildlife and conservation.
The children from St John's CE Primary, are continuing their efforts to enhance and improve the local strip of woodland which stands close to their school on land bordered by Avondale Avenue and West Drive.
Bury Council's Wildlife Officer, David Dutton, said: "Prior to the school taking it upon itself last year to carry out improvements to the wood, it had suffered years of neglect. Now we are now planting hundreds of woodland wildflowers such as Greater Stitchwort, Bugle and Wood Sorrel."
