GLENN Hoddle refuses to blame cup football for a dip in league form and insists Spurs can turn the corner in the Premiership.
Spurs, face Wanderers in their re-arranged fourth round FA Cup clash tomorrow, on the back of Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Derby County which made it one win in just eight league games.
But during that spell Spurs have also reached the Worthington Cup Final in that memorable night against Chelsea and blew away Coventry in the third round of the FA Cup.
Hoddle, aked if cups were distracting league form, told the official Spurs website - wwwspurs.co.uk - "The elusive thing for Tottenham over the last 25 years has been consistency and that's something I want to put right. That will take longer than nine months.
"What I will say though is that the most important game at any football club is the next one, whether that's in the league or a cup game.
"That is the attitude we're drilling into the players.
"It's not because we're performing badly in the league though, we've actually performed half-decent and lost matches and that's a concern as well.
"If we were playing dreadfully and getting beaten because we deserved to it would be a problem that would really need solving.
"But we can turn the corner if we continue putting in decent performances because we've proved that earlier in the season."
