IT is now one year since the fall of the Bill to ban hunting, and the Campaign to Protect Hunted Animals involving the RSPCA, IFAW, and League Against Cruel Sports, are asking that the public write to the Government, requesting it to honour its pledge to hold a free vote and resolve this issue.
The Government made a clear commitment in its manifesto to have a "free vote", and now that its intentions have been confirmed in the Queen's Speech, we must see this cruel and unnecessary activity banned as quickly as possible to bring this issue to its logical conclusion in this parliamentary term.
Please write to Tony Blair and your local MP, reminding them that this is one of the occasions that the Parliament Act could be introduced to push the Bill through the House of Lords, and if necessary this must be used.
A petition can also be signed by visiting website: www.banhunting.com
If we can generate as much support as possible NOW, we may not need to seek your help again in the future on this particular issue.
