IT was fun and games for all ages at a colourful festival at Bolton Excel leisure centre at the weekend.
The Hum Saath Chalen (meaning We Walk Together) party is now in its third year and the proceeds of the evening are going to The Cancer Research Campaign.
Mayoress Alice Kilcoyne was a guest at the party held for everyone from "babies to grandads" from all backgrounds at the Bridgeman Street venue. There was a classical Indian dancing performance, craft workshops and henna painting for the children, as well as well as musical entertainment, a DJ and adult games.
Vice chairman of the group organising the Hum Saath Chalen, Nazneen Sunni, said 22 sponsors supported the organisation of this year's party.
Previously, proceeds have benefited Oxfam and the Earthquake Appeal.
Nazneen said: "We are just a group of individuals from all walks of life who got together three years ago and decided to do something to bring communities together to celebrate the Millennium, Diwali and Eid -- and it was such a success.
"The whole purpose is to bring communities in Bolton under one umbrella and to celebrate together.
"We want to put on entertainment for everybody to enjoy."
