A "NEIGHBOUR from hell" carried out a campaign of fear and intimidation against a young nursery teacher, a court heard.

Christopher Harrison, who lived next door to Heidi King, used to shout obscenities and followed her when she drove to work. When warned by police Harrison took no notice and allegedly continued to harass her whenever he saw her. Even after he had been arrested and bailed he shouted abuse at her outside the magistrates court and was re-arrested.

When interviewed by police Harrison claimed all the allegations were false and that she had harassed him.

Harrison, aged 40, of Acres Street, Tottington, appeared at Bolton Crown Court accused of harassing Heidi King, causing her to fear that violence may be used. He also faces two charges of witness intimidation of Miss King. He denies all three charges.

Roger Green, prosecuting, said the case was about "neighbours from hell." At the time Harrison lived with his partner and her daughter in Grassington Court, Walshaw, while Heidi King lived next door with her parents. Relations between the neighbours deteriorated and by May 2000 Harrison took every opportunity to insult and frighten Heidi King. (Proceeding)
