RAIL commuters faced travel chaos again today as many train services ground to a halt at the start of a second wave of 24 hour strikes.
Arriva Trains Northern services were expected to be crippled today and tomorrow as hundreds of train staff nationally strike in a dispute over pay.
But Manchester-based First North Western have stressed their services will not be affected.
Talks between Arriva and the Rail Maritime and Transport Union (RMT) last week and over the weekend have ended without agreement.
The majority of Arriva services will be cancelled although more will run than the last strikes at the and of January.
