THE funeral of a teenager who died in a shooting incident on a Bolton farm was being held today.
Carl Barry, aged 19, died from a single gunshot wound to the chest at Sheephouse Farm in Smithhills Dean Road on December 28.
The teenager, from Chorley Old Road, Bolton, was the son of Peter and Beverley Barry, brother of Craig and partner of Shelly. The service and interment were due to be held at St Peter's Church, Halliwell.
Farmer Adam Dixon, aged 33, was released on police bail following the incident. It is thought Carl was showing his new shotgun to Mr Dixon when the tragedy happened.
A file has been sent to the Crown Prosecution Service which will decide whether to bring criminal proceedings against him. A decision is unlikely to be made within the next two months.
An inquest into Carl's death will be held later this year.
