A BOLTON man is the first managing director of the newly "commercialised" Guernsey Electricity Ltd.
Ian Watson, aged 51, who was born in Prestolee, moved to Kearsley when he was five and after attending St Stephen's primary and George Tomlinson secondary schools in Kearsley he qualified as an accountant and a chartered secretary.
Working earlier in his career for Chloride-Lorival, Little Lever, he travelled the world with periods in Singapore, Papua New Guinea and Australia. For the last 10 years he has lived and worked in Guernsey.
He was previously financial manager and general manager of Guernsey Electricity.
During his time as general manager he was instrumental in the success of the £50m power cable project which now links the Channel Islands of Jersey and Guernsey to mainland Europe.
Ian said: "Bolton Wanderers is always the first football result I look for and when I visit my brother Trevor I always read the Bolton Evening News and visit my favourite local pie shop."
