A YOUNG nursery nurse was accused of lying over claims that her neighbour harassed and threatened her.

Heidi King denied lying and said that Christopher Harrison had threatened to rape and kill her in confrontations outside her home.

She denied that she invented the harassment claims just because she and her family had wanted Harrison and his family off their estate.

Harrison denies harassing the nursery nurse and claimed he had been harassed by the King family.

He said the allegations were completely without foundation.

Harrison, who lived next door to Heidi King, is alleged to have shouted obscenities and followed her when she drove to work.

Harrison, aged 40, of Acres Street, Tottington, in Bury, appeared at Bolton Crown Court on the second day of his trial.

He is accused of harassing Heidi King causing her to fear that violence may be used.

He also faces two charges of witness intimidation of Miss King. He denies all three charges.

At the time Harrison lived with his partner and her daughter at an address in Grassington Court, Walshaw, Miss King lived next door with her parents.

On several occasions Harrison allegedly followed King to work, abused her when she got out of her car and gave rude two-fingered gestures.

She claimed he had threatened to rape her and shouted at her "girls like you need teaching a lesson", and threatened to kill her.

Heidi King's boyfriend, John Worsley, told the court that once, when they had come home from the cinema, Harrison rushed out and ran at them. He appeared to have been drinking and was shouting abuse at Heidi. (Proceeding) Miss King denied that she and her family wanted Harrison and his family off their estate. She said: "I just wanted Mr Harrison to leave me alone."
