WEST Ham boss Glen Roeder is not letting talks over his contract cloud over his main priority: the visit to the Reebok on Saturday.

Roeder, appointed to succeed Harry Redknapp during the summer, is currently in negotiations over his own contract with the West Ham board who have offered him a three-year deal.

"We are talking,'' said Roeder. "Until anything is decided one way or the other, it's best not to make any noises."

But he admitted agreement is not far away, stating: "If they didn't want me to do well they wouldn't have given me the job in the first place.

"By giving the job to someone with relatively little experience they stuck their necks out as well and working in partnership we can turn things round for the future.

"Last season was a difficult one for the club and we are not out of the woods yet. There is still a lot of work to be done."

Following last night's 3-2 FA Cup defeat by Chelsea, that starts with Saturday's Premiership visit to Wanderers.

"The most important thing now is getting a good result at Bolton. I'm sure other matters will take care of themselves," said Roeder.
