THERE is still a faint hope that a famous band will earn a reprieve after Leigh Silver Band stalwart Harold Roberts said trustees had decided to put instruments in store.
Mr Roberts, of Dunham Grove, Leigh, said: "Although no one has yet come forward with a definite proposal to keep Leigh Silver Band going -- or a band in town -- there have been some favourable comments in that direction.
"Although the band has ceased to function, it has been the trustees' decision to store all instruments up to October, which should be time enough for any positive developments."
