A BMX club has been set up for local youngsters.
Members of Castle Hill Youth Club sparked off the idea for BMX biking and Tonge Sports Club took the lead in responding to a petition, started by 13-year-old Alex Smith.
The sports club, the youth club and Bolton Youth Services worked together to find funding for the bikes and the Single Regeneration Budget 4 gave a grant of £1,000.
Youth leader Chris Massey said: "The bikes have been assembled by the young people and this is the start to what we hope will be a very successful bike club."
They will also be constructing a BMX mobile skate park funded by the Neighbourhood Renewal Fund.
Peter Swain, chairman of the sports club said: "We are very grateful for the help given by Councillor Frank White, chairman of the youth club, and Bolton Youth Services for getting the funds. It gives the youngsters an alternative to hanging about on the streets and getting into trouble."
