A Westhoughton mum has said thanks to her daughter's Bolton schools for helping her to achieve a stunning five grade As at A-Level.
And for multi-talented Elizabeth Batty, aged 18, it now means she is Cambridge-bound.
Elizabeth of Wigan Road leapt for joy yesterday when she saw she had received top honours in Maths, Biology, Chemistry, music and General Studies at Billinge's Winstanley Sixth Form College.
Proud mum Pat Batty said Elizabeth chose the Wigan college to enable her to combine her science studies with her love of music.
"She is an accomplished singer, pianisat and flautist," said Mrs Batty. "She has always seen music as a hobby and hopes to continue it at university."
Elizabeth is heading for Cambridge's historic Peterhouse College to study Natural Sciences and hopes to find a career in scientific research.
But Mrs Batty said Elizabeth's primary school in Westhoughton, Sacred Heart, and her secondary school St Joseph's RC High in Horwich.
"It's not just the past two years that have made Elizabeth's school career such as success but the whole of her time at school," said Mrs Batty. "The school's in Bolton have helped her as much as anyone and we would like to thank them all."
