A COUPLE of weeks ago, my husband was knocked of a scooter belonging to Shopmobility, while waiting to cross Blackhorse Street from the Market in Bolton.
He was waiting to go towards Lever Chambers, he stopped at the kerb, when a bus caught his scooter and knocked him off.
Luckily there were no bones broken, but the scooter was badly damaged.
This is the third accident on this crossing involving scooters, and this isn't the only place where the crossings are bad. Great Moor Street is bad on both pedestrian crossings and doesn't give people on scooters or elderly people with sticks a chance to cross the road.
It's about time the council woke up and took a look at these crossings, to make them safer for people with or without scooters to cross the roads in safety.
Another bad place is crossing Crompton Place, where the lorries go round to unload before you get to the pelican crossing opposite the Yorkshire Bank.
