MERVYN Brooker, currently Headmaster of King Edward VI Camp Hill Grammar School for Boys in Birmingham, has been appointed the new headmaster for Bolton School boys' division and will take up the job in January 2003.
Mr Brooker, aged 47, is married with two daughters and was educated at Lancaster and Burnley Grammar Schools. He read Geography at Jesus College, Cambridge and gained a 'blue' in cricket, playing in the Combined Universities' team against the West Indies in 1976. He has taught mainly in the Midlands in both the state and independent sectors, and has been at Camp Hill Boys' School since 1995.
