A MAN wanted by police was caught after he fell down a manhole and injured his leg, prompting his brother to call police, a court heard.
A warrant had been issued for Jason Lindley, aged 31, of Eastcoat Walk, Farnworth, after he missed a court appearance at Bolton Magistrates on December 14. He had been due to appear to face drugs charges.
The court heard that when police searched Lindley's previous address they had found £5 worth of cannabis and traces of crack cocaine. He pleaded guilty to being in possession of the two substances, but failed to attend a court hearing in December.
On Wednesday night Lindley fell down a manhole in Little Hulton and his brother called police, who discovered Lindley was wanted.
Magistrates were told that the drugs had been for Lindley's personal use and that following the police search he had been evicted from his old bedsit.
Lindley was fined £50 for possession of cannabis, £50 for possession of crack cocaine, £40 for failing to surrender and £50 costs.
