HELLO, Hello . . . who's wearing the trousers now? Women on foot patrol in the Bolton division of the Police Force are to have a new-style, with slightly-flared trousers for winter wear.
BOLTON Wanderers' manager Ian Greaves today gave his reasons for turning down Newcastle United's bid to take him to St James's Park. THE passengers in the 8pm train from Bolton to Leigh on Monday night narrowly escaped injury, or perhaps death, at Atherton station.
As a luggage train was being shunted out of the way, the passenger train dashed past, the steps being swept off the carriages.
Both engines were damaged, that of the luggage train being thrown off the rails. The passengers escaped with a severe shaking, but were greatly alarmed. There was great excitement.
THE great meeting held in the Temperance Hall on Tuesday evening marks an important stage in the history of the agitation for complete Religious Equality.

They have demonstrated beyond possible doubt that the Disestablishment of the Church of England is the object for the accomplishment of which thousands in Bolton are prepared to co-operate heartily.
