IT is all well and good to close Seymour Road, but without making major improvements to Blackburn Road/Crompton Way junction all that will happen is to transfer the problem.
A right turn filter is needed at this junction. If it is not put there Blackburn Road will be blocked with traffic waiting to turn right into Crompton Way. Why do you think they use Seymour Road. Drivers will solve the problem themselves. They will turn right at The Royal Back of Scotland and out onto Crompton Way via Almond Street.
The council most put this junction right first before they close Seymour Road.
