I READ with interest the excellent report by Neil Bonnar of the performance at the Bridgewater Hall, Manchester, from Diana Krall and her quartet.
Neil obviously enjoyed the concert as much as I did, but if Diana reads it she will be mortified that he has referred to her as "The American".
She was born in a town called Nanaimo, on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. As a person who has a large number of relatives in Canada, I know that the Canadians get very upset when they are mistaken for Americans, because of the long standing links to Britain through the Commonwealth.
Good account of the splendid evening though, Neil.
