REGARDING the Council Car Park Higher Market Street/Hollands Old Folks Home -- might I point out that the people of Farnworth and Kearsley have been parking on this park around 35 years now.
Shop owners on Market Street park there and so do their customers. It was made a car park around 1968 by Kearsley Council through Lancashire County Council. Why would we want another take-away, with even more traffic disruption and why should children lose more of their playing field to accommodate it -- what would it leave and where else would people park, only on private parks?
Originally the car park was put there to ease the parking on Market Street and it worked. So I would recommend leave well alone and build your McDonalds on Blightys' spare land.
To help save our car park write to Mr R Jefferson, Director of Environment, Town Hall, Bolton objecting to Planning Application number 60951.
