PRINCESS Margaret, who died peacfully aged 71 on Saturday morning, touched the lives of many people in Bolton and opened the Octagon theatre in 1967.
Princess Margaret officially opened the venue before joining other theatre-goers to watch the world premiere of Bill Naughton's Annie and Fanny.
