A JOBLESS mechanic found a holdall containing a computer stolen from Sharples High School and decided to take it home, a court heard.
Simon Cons, aged 35, of Eastway, Hall i'th' Wood, pleaded guilty to theft at Bolton Magistrates Court yesterday.
He found the blue holdall containing equipment worth £1,500, a large screwdriver, and a crowbar behind bushes in Hugh Lupus Street.
The court heard that Cons found it when he went for a walk on Boxing Day.
Magistrates ordered the defendant to pay a £95 fine and £55 costs.
