I WAS reading the Letters page a week or two ago and I would just like to say that the letter I read had me and my boyfriend in hysterics.
It was the one about chewing gum on the town centre pavements. Yes, it does not look nice, but, still, this letter said: "we have to ban chewing gum as it is an offensive substance".
What in the world are we going to come out with next? I am 18-years -old and I think that it is the most ridiculous thing I have heard in all my life. Chewing gum is chewing gum, not an offensive substance. I think that we should be bothered about far more important things like the murders and car hijacks that are becoming all the more popular, not chewing gum.
