BLOOD found inside a car which had been stolen and another which had been damaged linked a young man to the crime.
Magistrates at Bury heard how DNA testing had led officers to question 20-year-old Lee Platt, who pleaded guilty to taking a vehicle without the owner's consent, unlawfully damaging a vehicle and driving with no insurance.
Platt, who lives in Toon Crescent, Bury, was given 100 hours' community punishment and disqualified from driving for three months. In addition he was ordered to pay compensation of £350.
