MPs and peers today took part in the year's most battering political duel - the annual parliamentary pancake race.
The 50-yard dash across College Green in front of the Houses of Parliament saw the politicians shed their usual levels of dignity and party allegiance to don chefs' hats and aprons in a cross-party two-team relay for charity.
It was in aid of the brain injury charity Rehab UK and it was won by the team headed by Anne Begg, the MP for Aberdeen South.
Bolton South East MP Brian Iddon has seen at close hand the work carried out by Rehab UK after one of his former chemistry students at Salford University suffered a brain injury.
He said: "I hope this will raise the profile of Rehab UK and will persuade people to give money because I have seen the good it has done."
