A Bromley Cross man has just been awarded a PhD from University College London.
Dominic Walker, aged 26, a former pupil of Our Lady of Lourdes Primary, Farnworth; St John's Primary in Bromley Cross, and Thornleigh College went on to complete a Masters Degree in Natural Sciences at Christ's College Cambridge and subsequently worked as a research scientist for the Defence Evaluation Research Agency (DERA).
His research in the field of Radar technology at DERA, which led to his PhD, involved experimental work on board MoD aircraft and included a spell at the University of Santa Barbara in California.
He now lives in Malvern, Worcestershire but his parents, Peter and Lynette, still live in Bromley Cross.
