SAND martins whose nesting sites have been torn apart by the Millennium Ribble Link canal network in Lancashire are being given new homes.
The birds, who spend the winter in Africa, will fly back to nest in habitats lining the Preston canal.
Ecologist Jonathan Hart-Wood is creating the sites at the junction of Lea Road and Aindale Drive in Ashton.
