A CHANGE in the law is being considered to prevent criminals such as as the Moors Murderer, Ian Brady, cashing-in on their notoriety by writing books and memoirs.
Brady is expected to earn up to £15,000 from his book, The Gates of Janus, which was published last December.
The Home Office has told David Sumberg, Conservative MEP for the North West, it is looking at ways to stop criminals directly profiting from their crimes. The book analyses serial killers such as the Yorkshire Ripper, Peter Sutcliffe.
